My sessions start from your own situations. We work on the language you need, at the moment you need it. Complete beginners are welcome too: we simply start from zero, at your pace.

Who am I?

I am Evie Tops, a doctor in linguistics and head of the Dutch department at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB Langues).

For more than twenty years I have taught Dutch to French speakers, including at the ULB Faculty of Law. I also worked for the Nederlandse Taalunie on the teaching and assessment of Dutch as a foreign language.

The way I work is interactive and personal: real situations, authentic material, immediate feedback. You speak, you understand, you rephrase, you correct, and the confidence follows.

For lawyers and legal professionals. Legal vocabulary, spoken exchanges, presenting files, receiving clients and professional phrasing.

Pupils and individuals

For pupils and university students in Walloon Brabant, and for adults who want to pick up the Dutch they learned at school. Lessons at my place in Beauvechain.

Dutch for expats

For non-Dutch speakers who need Dutch in a social setting: the commune, the school, the neighbours…

Sessions in English

Intensive course

A short, intensive track for one specific deadline: a presentation, an interview, an important meeting or a conversation with a Dutch-speaking client. Also for a language exam or certification.
